feedback

Speakup and let us know what you think of the Nimpot Website. We solicit your contributions and hope that with your feedback we may continue to improve Our site for You.

This is a multi-purpose Feedback area where you can provide us with:

  • Feedback pertaining to our website.
  • Your email address for notification of upcoming Nim Po't events.
  • Your Request for information pertaining to Volunteer/Intern Opportunities on our project.
  • Your Contributions/Bulletin Board Postings
  • Your Request for Appraisals/Auctioning of Maya Textiles in your possession.
  • Email links related to Maya culture, traditions, and textiles.
Our Website project represents more than just expanding the store into cyberspace, we striving to expand upon the vision of founder Frank Mays to make an ethnographic statement about the greater cultural context in which these textiles were conceived and are utilized.

One of the exciting aspects of the Nim Po't mission is the opportunity to examine topics rarely before investigated. The published literature is scant and often inaccurate. Every village, with it's own history, customs and evolving weaving traditions will generate a separate essay, that in the aggregate will grow to become a comprehensive encyclopedia of Guatemalan textiles. This will be complimented by projects that include the recording of oral histories, appraising one-of-a-kind collections, sponsoring live demonstrations and workshops, and presenting cultural events. With our website we hope to be a major resource of information for anyone interested in the field of Maya Studies.

As part of our service to our virtual community, we are also available as appraisals of Maya textiles. If you send us photos by email or regular (snail) mail, we will try to identify your textiles and appraise them for you. In the future we hope to put into our site a mechanism for helping our visitors sell or auction their collections, most likely under the guise of person-to-person auctioning.

It is hoped that our website will also become a center for the exchange of information that will fascinate scholars and collectors as well as virtual visitors. We are also soliciting the contact of persons interested in volunteering or interning as members of our project.

Please contact us via email by using the following email link, frank@nimpot.com, if you are interested in exploring opportunities on our project.

Thanks again for your input.
